Perhaps the least likely distillery to exist Kingsbarns was the brain child of Douglas Clement, a former pro golf caddy with no background in the industry. Happily he had sufficient connection to wealthy investors and a little luck. Clement notes that he was "fed up sending my golfing clients out of Fife to visit a distillery and I thought, surely there’s an opportunity to create a distillery close to the golf courses?
Kininvie

Kininvie is the sister whisky distillery to Balvenie and Glenfiddich and is located on the same site in Speyside near Dufftown. Production of Kininvie whisky In contrast to its famous sister distilleries, Kininvie has lead a rather shadowy existence. This was because the owners did not initially plan to establish Kininvie as an independent brand. Above all, the distillery was supposed to produce excellent malt whiskey for the family company’s various blends, which it did and still does in abundance.
Kuenz Naturbrennerei

That the whisky tradition in Dölsach is young means little. “Naturbrände Kuenz” can refer to a long tradition of distilling.
