In the small distillery, which is picturesquely situated on the banks of the beautiful river Spey, you get a classic and representative single malt. Take an interesting tour including a video show and take part in a tasting. The distillery is located on the official Scotland’s Malt whisky Trail. There are eight different distilleries and a cooperage on this hiking trail. Production of Cragganmore whisky The stills are not too big but rather unusually shaped.
Dachstein

What the Warter family has established at 980 meters above sea level in recent years is unique: on the mountain, Mama Doris’ pastries, one of the last mountain pine oil production sites in the Alps and a location right on the border between Salzburg and Styria are tempting. In 2008, Bernhard Warter completed the expansion from oil – from which Katharina Warter creates wonderful natural cosmetics – to whisky. And with Katharina’s sister Theresa, the next generation is already making single malts from the Alm.
Daftmill

Daftmill is a small farm distillery in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland. The young Lowland distillery produces only extremely little whiskey and is in great demand due to the severe limitation. It was only after a full twelve years that Daftmill released their first single malt, with great success. Daftmill, which translates as ‘crazy mill’, is a comparatively young distillery in the Lowlands. However, it was founded in 2005 and thus started before the great distillery boom of the 2010s.
Dailuaine

Dailuaine distillery is perhaps the most overlooked of the Diagio portfolio with only a few official bottlings available as only around 2% of it’s incredible 5,200,000 litre annual capacity are released as single malts, the bulk of the remainder forms the part of the groups Johnnie Walker range. Originally built as a farm distillery Dailuaine’s repeated mergers and takeovers production was scaled up repeatedly through-out it’s lifetime becoming one of the largest in the Giagio group, most interestingly for a distillery with no brand presense the distillery has never been voluntarily shut down throughout its lifetime, though it has been ravaged by fire twice causing temporary stoppage
Dallas Dhu

The Dallas Dhu Distillery is a closed distillery still tourable as a working museum. Dallas Dhu means “black meadow” in Gaelic. Production of Dallas Dhu whisky Although there is no longer any production, the decision was made to convert the disused distillery into a museum five years after it was closed. The interior is almost completely preserved and largely corresponds to that of 1939. The lovingly restored museum is very popular and is under the Scottish State Commission for Buildings and Monuments.
