Nant distillery

Nant Distillery (founded 2007, Tasmania): Nant calls itself the first Tasmanian highland single malt because the distillery is about 300 meters above sea level. However, the whiskey distillery has become much better known due to an inglorious fraud scandal. Numerous barrels sold to investors were not filled and therefore huge sums of money were misappropriated. After years of legal chaos, things seem to be slowly smoothing out. The distillery is now in the hands of Australian Whiskey Holdings. Time will tell whether the distillery can recover from the damage to its image.

Great Venue, Angry Staff by Matthew Neilson

Came through here before COVID ruined everything. Beautiful looking distillery, probably the best looking in Tasmania ! Whisky is getting great too, however the young Irish girl who gave us a tour had little to no interest in what she was showing us. A little disheartening and let down the beautiful venue.

Excellent Distillery Tour by Jon M

Really enjoyed our spur of the moment visit to this distillery on our journey back to Hobart. Scott, our distiller host, gave an excellent and highly informative tour of the distillery really taking the time to share his knowledge. Then a very reasonably priced tasting of four of their whiskeys and we couldn’t say no to a bottle on the way out. A beautiful location and comes highly recommended.

Spring Lunch by Jacquicbll

Visited Nant distillery for lunch. Have visited a few years ago, location doesn’t disappoint. Beautiful countryside, peaceful location. Very friendly and attentive staff. Lunch was delicious! Homemade beef pie with salad and chips - huge serving. Cauliflower soup also a hearty serving, could not fault. The site needs maintenance and looks a bit tired with pathway lighting needing repair and dining table wonky needing attention.
