Strathmeldrum

Little record of the distillery exists, though it’s generally agreed that it was owned by John Manson & Co. who owned neighbouring Glen Garioch for a time. Its capacity was also recorded at 1,157 Gallons of whisky produced for the quarter ending 10th October 1826

Sullivans Cove

In addition to the Lark Distillery, Sullivan’s Cove founded in Tasmania in 1994 is certainly one of the most successful and well-known Australian whisky distilleries. Sullivan’s Cove Single Cask French Oak won the “Best Single Cask Single Malt” award in 2014 and 2019 putting Australian whisky on the international stage for the first time. It is therefore the only distillery that has won this title twice so far. Founder Patrick Maguire sold the distillery to a group of private investors in 2016 in order to raise capital to expand the brand.

Talisker

Talisker is among the most popular and recognizable of Scotland’s island whiskies. With its unique maritime character, Talisker delights fans worldwide. Talisker combines the boisterous peat smoke and salty aromas with a pleasant spicy sweetness. Thanks to this harmony of savagery and gentleness, Talisker stands for many connoisseurs for the almost perfect Scotch whisky and while the distillery has a range of offerings the Talisker 10 years is the clear flagship.

Teeling

The distillery is located in the former “golden triangle” Liberties in Dublin. The neighborhood got its nickname because of its high density of large and small whiskey distilleries from times long past. Teeling is building on this tradition with its reopening in 2015. The Shed

The Shed Distillery is a brand new distillery in the small town of Drumshanbo in County Leitrim, close to Loch Allen Lake. It is the first active distillery in Connacht in 101 years. It is run by the experienced spirits expert PJ Rigney. He gained many years of experience at Baileys, Grant’s and Gilbeys before opening his own distillery. How does The Shed Whiskey taste? It still has to prove itself.
