This is truly an American dream turned reality. This little craft gin distillery has been open only a few short years and have already made a National name for themselves. Voted the #1 craft gin distillery in the US in 2018! They are garnering such awards and attention that they have had to expand their operation and are continuing to grow.I went on a tour with a couple of friends, and though I will not say I am a gin convert yet, this tour exceeded expectations! Our guide, Kassey (sp?), is a Julia Stiles look alike, and was pleasant, humorous and knowledgeable. Who is Gertrude, you ask? Well, the hardest working employee at the distillery of course (picture of her below)! Hats off to the owners who employ mainly women, and use locally sourced products to the best of their ability. Great tour!

While visiting friends in Raleigh we did a day trip to Durham and stopped in for a tasting. I’m not a drinker, but enjoyed the cucumber gin and the Damn Fine Liqueur. The liqueur tasted just like Abbott’s ice cream back home in Rochester. Learned about the distilling process from some very nice employees, and the tee shirts are cool too! Highly recommended a trip here!
