Blackwater distillery
The Blackwater Distillery is located in County Waterford in the tranquil south of Ireland. A small hand craft distillery that produces and bottles everything in-house. The distillery in Ballyduff, near Lismore in County Waterford, produces single malt and pot still Irish whiskey, in addition to gin.
Founder Peter Mulryan worked for the Irish Distillers before he decided to start his own distillery. Peter the owner is at the still himself and controls every run. Each bottle is currently filled and labeled by hand. The three stills were made by Frills in Siena, Italy, and brought to Ireland. While they claim to be the first distillery to use blockchain technology, as far as we know, the crown in this discipline belongs to the Adelphi distillery Ardnamurchan.
History
Blackwater Distillery started production in November 2018, making it the 21st operational distillery in Ireland, impressive as the building permit was only received at the end of March 2017.
