An Interesting History. by MarriottFamily

The mill has an interesting history and our guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgable, she really brought it back to life. The sun was shining and it's a peaceful spot these days but you can imagine it was far from that when it was a working mill. The gift shop has some nice items but is quite expensive, unfortunately the cafe was closed.

Eye-Openingly Interesting by Bcgogs

This beautifully restored cottage industry is well worth a visit. They show a film at the start of the self-guided tour that we did and it is extremely informative - never knew that so much work was involved in turning the wool into yarn and then beautiful fabrics. If you go to the nearby Cardhu Distillery then take time to spend an hour here - you will not be disappointed

Knock Your Socks Off by Vanessa E

This working wool mill has been carefully renovated and is lovingly cared for by the Trust that now owns it. It is only open between 10 a.m. and 12 noon at the moment (May 2021) and that time can just fly by. Seeing the video of the history of the mill is a must and then on to see the various parts that make up the process of weaving before buying a reminder of your visit at the wee shop and cafe. Much more interesting than a visit to yet another distillery and so much better for your health!
